We are a small family from the hills of Uttarkashi — the town the Kedārkhaṇḍa of the Skanda Purāṇa reveres as Saumya Kāśī, the gentler northern Kāśī on the banks of Maa Bhāgīrathī. For over four generations, our elders — pujaris and astrologers by dharma — have served the families of our mohalla. Weddings, house-warmings, health poojas, first haircuts, last rites — we have been the ones called at every important moment.

The two seniors of our current generation are Dr. Dataram Mishra (Pitaji) and Pt. Vidya Sagar Mishra (Chachaji). They are real brothers, trained side by side by our late Dadaji since childhood. Between them, they carry 60+ years of daily practice.

A few years ago, families who had moved away — to Bengaluru, to Dubai, to Toronto — began calling and asking whether we could do their poojas on their behalf. Our reply used to be: yes, but come to Uttarkashi. Then one morning, a young devotee said quietly, "Panditji, why not do it on WhatsApp video? My mother needs the sankalp done today."

That was the beginning of Sanatani Store — not a marketplace, not a booking app, just our family taking its parampara online so devotees anywhere can be part of the sankalp. Every pooja on this site is performed by one of us. Every consultation is by Pitaji or Chachaji themselves. That is our promise.
